Falling Skies is ready to blow the Espheni - and viewers - away with its series finale.
The TNT series will end humanity's three-year battle for survival during "Reborn," and 2nd Mass will make their final stand at an "iconic" location. This final battle, however, won't go quite as fans might expect. It will, however, reveal the Espheni's true motives.
"There is one decisive final battle," executive producer Olatunde Osunsanmi told EnStars and San Diego Comic-Con. "I think our showrunner put a very unique spin on how that battle takes place, which It think we all found rather surprising in a good way."
The 2nd Mass is gearing up to march on Washinton, but DC as a whole will not be the final proving ground. Tom Mason and his family will wind up in a very specific location, and while Osunsanmi couldn't reveal the exact spot, he believes Falling Skies did an amazing job building the new set.
"I can tell you - hopefully I won't slip up here - when we built that set...I walked on and thought, 'Wow,'" Osunsanmi teased. "I've been to this particular place and I thought, 'This is a big f---ing deal.'"
Could it be the Lincoln Memorial? The Washington Monument? The White House? DC is littered with impressive and monumental structures. Viewers will just have to wait and see.
