Saturday was a very special day for One Direction's Liam Payne!

Not Even Simon Cowell Is Sure If One Direction Will Remain A Band After Their Break

The soulful singer officially turned 22 and just because he happens to be on tour with his bandmates, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles, doesn't mean there won't be a celebration.

The British-Irish boy band was in Detroit for a show on Saturday and Horan kicked off wishing Payne birthday wishes on Twitter that afternoon.

Horan was super adorable and even shared a photo of them together on stage from a previous performance "making strange faces."

Tomlinson promised the show in Detroit would be "siiiiiick."

Styles also brought up "celebrating on stage."

Payne's bandmates got the entire stadium to sing "Happy Birthday" to him.

Horan popped a confetti popper by the end of the celebration on stage!

It looks like members of the One Direction touring team even got snazzy balloons that spelled out "LIAM" as part of Payne's birthday festivities.

There was a music note balloon too!

The 1D member had multiple cakes; a super intricate Harry Potter themed one and one that looks like it was decorated by their groomer Lou Teasdale's daughter Lux.

Payne even seemed to get new ink as part of celebrating turning 22. He was seen in New York City last night sporting two new tattoos.


The band's tour resumes tomorrow, Sept 1, in Philadelphia.
