Actress Zooey Deschanel's divorce from Death Cab For Cutie singer Ben Gibbard was finalized on Dec. 12.

The divorce was granted in Los Angeles Superior Court just a year after they announced their separation in November of 2011.

Deschanel, 32, filed for divorce in January due to "unhappy and irreconcilable differences," according to TMZ, Court documents stated that there was" the irremediable breakdown of their marriage. There is no possibility that counseling ... or mediation could save the marriage."

The former couple remained relatively silent on the topic since they announced their split but the "Me & Him" singer told People "We're friendly. It's all fine."

Deschanel and Gibbard also waived their rights to spousal support.

The former couple wed in 2009. At the time, the rocker told praised how lucky he felt to snag the beautiful brunette.

"I was just awestruck that she was even talking to me," Gibbard told New York magazine. "I'd seen her movies and obviously I thought she was very beautiful."

The self-admitted "geeky" actress has not been alone since her split from Gibbard. Deschanel was seen holding hands in public last month with screenwriter Jamie Linden, who has penned scripts for several hit films including "10 Years," "Dear John" and "We Are Marshall."

"Jamie's a really nice guy," a source told Us Weekly. "He's funny, and little geeky...he's into her!"

Last week, Deschanel received a 2013 Golden Globes nomination for Best Actress for a Comedy or Musical Series. Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Lena Dunham and Julia Louis-Dreyfus are also in the running for the honor.
