Ever wondered if the animals you see at the zoo might recognize loved ones who they were separated from? Well, it appears this one gorilla might.

When he was showed pictures of other gorillas from someone's smart phone--he responded both positively and negatively to individual images. Images he may have recognized caused him to look at the smart phone user, while those he didn't saw him shaking his head. Then, later on, he tried to get as close as possible to the smart phone user by posing in a near-mirror image to him and looking at the phone.

Regardless of whether he recognized family members or not, it seems a smart phone may be on this gorilla's Christmas wish list.
