Actress Reveals Something 'Bittersweet' About 'Downton Abbey' Ending

On Tuesday, Deadline posted a report on the stars of the British drama, including Laura Carmichael (Edith) who "hopes" her character will find happiness.

"It's what you hope for, but it doesn't make it easy," she said. "There is always the threat of living with this illegitimate daughter and there is always going to be that drama."

Raquel Cassidy (Baxter) then dished on her character's relationship with Molesley, something she's thoroughly enjoyed.

"It's super sweet because you see different aspects of Molesley than you ever thought you would because this character of Baxter comes in and he grows and he's brave and stronger than you think he would be," Cassidy said.

The actress then jokingly said that if the series gets a feature film, then she would like to be a big part of it so Baxter can have more development.

"If there is a movie, I want it to be all about Baxter," she said. "That's just a way of saying I'm not really ready for it to be over. It says a lot about the show, I love her."

Joanne Froggatt (Anna) then gave hope that she would be happy to be part of a Downton movie if it ever becomes a guarantee.

"It would be lovely to do," she said. "It would be a stepping stone to not doing Downton ever again."

Downton Abbey Season 6 premieres in the United States on Sunday, January 3 on PBS.
