The Flash is striking out on his own.

'The 100' Season 3: Where Are The Other 11 Clans? Writers Tease Polis

Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) will be riddled with guilt following the death of Eddie Thawne (Rick Cosnett), and the season 2 premiere will see the fastest man alive attempt to go solo as he tackles Central City's next wave of crime in "The Man Who Saved Central City."

Unsurprisingly, Barry's lone wolf approach to life won't go well. In fact, it looks like it will even land the speedster in the hospital.

"Picking up months after the Singularity attacked Central City, Barry (Grant Gustin) is still struggling to forgive himself for Eddie's death. Concerned about putting his friends in danger, Barry has pushed everyone away and has chosen to protect the city on his own," The CW announced. "When a meta-human named Atom Smasher (guest star Adam Copeland) attacks the city, Iris (Candice Patton) tells Barry that he needs to let his friends help him protect the citizens of Central City."

You knock down one villain, another just pops up to take his place. This time, however, the CCPD, will be better prepared to aid the city's savior. Thanks to Cisco and Joe, a Meta Task Force will be in place by time Atom Smasher comes to call.
