A Sex and the City gal is about to make an appearance on Showtime's The Affair.

'The Affair' Will 'Launch Into The Consequences' Of Noah & Alison's Infidelity

On Thursday, Deadline announced that Cynthia Nixon who played Miranda Sanders on the former HBO comedy, will be playing a therapist on the Showtime drama helping out Noah and Alison's tumultuous romance.

Not much else was mentioned about the character or what the therapist will be adding to the series, but odds are likely it'll be worth a watch.

Nixon is also known for Amadeus and for reprising her role as Miranda in the Sex and the City movies.

In a clip posted below, Joshua Jackson who plays Cole on the series, dished on how his own character has changed and how he'll be dealing with the effects of Noah and Alison's indiscretion. The first season dealt with how Noah and Alison saw everything, but the second season will expand into Cole and Helen's perspectives. And based on how things went with Cole holding everyone hostage with a gun, Alison is probably going to fear him more.

"Alison's perspective on Cole would be pretty fearful at this point," Jackson said. "That was a completely out of character moment for him to do something so violent, really, and aggressive."

The Affair Season 2 premieres on Sunday, October 4 at 10 p.m. ET on Showtime.
