Justin Bieber Meets Girl In Hospital, 7-Year-Old Leukemia Patient Gets Surprise Visitor
Justin Bieber visited a 7-year-old leukemia patient, and fan of the pop singer, in her hospital room in Salt Lake City before taking to the stage for his concert on Jan. 5.
Millie Flamm was too sick to attend Justin Bieber's concert so instead the "Boyfriend" singer decided to surprise her and visit her at Primary Children's Medical Center before his Saturday night concert.
Flamm, who has been battling leukemia for three years, was forced to sell her concert tickets to see Bieber after suffering a relapse two weeks ago. Family friends then began a online campaign to try to get the singer to visit Flamm
"He was so sweet to her," Millie's mom, Amanda Flamm, said. "He walked in and her whole face just lit up."
Bieber sang a song while holding her hand and gave Millie his guitar pick.
"She is squeezing on to it with all her might and will not let it go," Amanda said.
When Bieber gave Millie a kiss on the cheek before leaving, she turned to her mother and said, "You are never going to wash my face again."
Bieber has done similar trips to the hospital. In October, while in Edmonton, Canada, for his "Believe" tour, he visited 18-year-old cancer osteosarcoma patient Crystal Amber Montgomery in the hospital since she was too sick to leave her room to attend his show. Montgomery's friend campaigned for her and wrote on Bieber's Facebook wall about how much the teen is a fan of the pop singer's.
Montgomery spoke to Canadian newspaper the Toronto Sun about the visit, saying about Bieber, "He's amazing, he's an inspiration. To see him be such a mega-star but so willing to help people, and he's just such a great person."
Also in October, the Canadian singer met with Hailey Roser in Milwaukee's Bradley Center arena before going on stage. The 4-year-old is suffering from a brain cancer known as AT/RT and described the singer as the "love of my life." Her parents got Bieber's attention through their "Healing Hailey" social media campaign they started, and Roser's doctors gave her permission to leave the hospital to meet the singer backstage.
