Paul Zerdin opened up on how amazing it feels to be the new champion of America's Got Talent.

Paul Zerdin Reveals Who He Really Thought Would Win 'America's Got Talent'

The man won the reality competition this year after sharing his unique talent in ventriloquism. In an interview with Jewish News posted last Thursday, Zerdin dished on what was going through his head when his name was announced as well as who he really expected to win.

"I felt a mixture of euphoria and jet lag!" Zerdin said. "I was convinced by the time it was whittled down to me and Drew [Lynch, a stand-up comedian], I thought he's got it and was preparing to wish him the best and to tell him the best man won. But then it turned out to be me. I was very happy!"

The man then revealed how he got started in ventriloquism in the first place; it started from the inspiration of another talented performer as well as his own skit at his sister's school.

"I first saw Ray Alan on The Paul Daniels Magic Show on BBC1 and he blew me away," Zerdin said. "I'd seen other ventriloquists, but Ray's technique was perfect. I was enchanted, I ended up learning from his book and I think it served me well. My first performance as a ventriloquist, apart from in front of my family, was a spot I did at my sister's secondary school in assembly. That gave me enormous confidence."
