Samsung Galaxy S4 Specs: Rumored Features Include Flexible Display and Octa Processor (CES 2013 NEWS)
The Samsung Galaxy S4 is one of the most highly anticipated smartphones for 2013, and rumors continue to swirl about its specs and features. The South Korean tech. giants have been busy at the CES 2013 and some of the its advancements revealed at the event have led many to believe the new device could feature some of the technology debuted there.
The CES 2013 is currently taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Samsung has already shown off its new Exynos 5 Octa, which is an 8-Core processor. The company has confirmed that it plans to use the technology in some of its upcoming products scheduled for release later this year.
As the Exynos 5 Octa is the state-of-the-art technology being unveiled by Samsung, many analysts have rumored that it is highly likely that this advance will be featured in the company’s landmark smartphone - the Samsung Galaxy S4.
Samsung has promoted that the huge processing power available from the new chip will allow the company’s smartphones and tablets to perform numerous tasks simultaneously. That means users could potentially play a game, watch an HD film, and conduct searches over the Internet without any significant delay or lag in loading.
A Samsung executive has been reported as saying the new processor has a "level of pure processing power never seen before in mobile devices and more detailed damage to cards, than ever before."
The tech giants also revealed that the new Exynos processor has twice the graphics performance of anything currently available on the market.
Usually when such high performance levels have been touted the processing power drains the device’s battery much quicker. However, Samsung believes it has addressed this problem, promoting that the processor is also frugal and is very power efficient.
The Exynos 5 Octa uses Cortex-A7 cores for the mundane tasks, and Cortex-A15 for the more sophisticated ones.
In other news emerging from the CES 2013, Samsung has also unveiled its new YOUM flexible display. That has led some to even believe the company will include this in its new Samsung Galaxy S4 when unveiled later this year.
The new flexible display allows users to fold their tablets and phones for easier storage purposes, and could revolutionize the way people use their portable devices, such as smartphones and especially tablets.
Samsung also confirmed that the flexible display technology is almost ready to be launched, and it too could appear in its upcoming smartphones and tablets, although the company did not offer any details about which specific devices could see the technology used in first.
