'Sleepy Hollow' Star Tom Mison Admits He Thought The 'Bones' Crossover Was Stupid At First

Bones executive producer Michael Peterson spoke with TVLine about the Bones/Sleepy Hollow crossover recently and teased his idea for another crossover.

"We can find Bunkie's body and crossover with Empire!" Peterson quipped. "I think Booth and Brennan have got some pipes on them. They'll sing a couple tunes."

Peterson is almost definitely joking, though it would arguably be a good fit. There have been multiple deaths and criminal investigations on Empire which would certainly lead to Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Booth (David Boreanaz) stepping in to investigate. We don't see a crossover happening anytime soon, but it would certainly be fun.

Meanwhile, Boreanaz and Deschanel admitted to TVLine that they didn't love the idea of the actual crossover with Sleepy Hollow at first.

"My first reaction [was], 'We don't really fit in their world, and I don't really quite understand,'" Boreanaz said. "'They have more of an occult experience going on with more of a supernatural feel to it. We're just a little bit more realistic in our environment.'"

"I thought they were crazy," Deschanel admitted, laughing. "I understand doing a crossover, but that particular show seemed, to me, like an odd choice at first... But then when I thought about it, I thought it could be an interesting challenge. Why do the obvious when you can do something off kilter like this?"

We'll have to see how it all plays out when the crossover airs tonight starting at 8/7c on Fox.
