The Sony Xperia Z release date is scheduled for the first quarter of 2013 in many regions of the world, and according to a post on the Sony Mobile News social media Twitter account recently, the device will also be landing in Canada.

The company received a message from eager customers on the social media site asking whether the new device would be released to Canada soon. In response the customers were to told that it was confirmed the device as well as the Xperia TL would be landing in the region.

Sony Mobile News tweeted the message, "Yes both Z and ZL will be coming to Canada."

The precise release date was not mentioned in the tweet, but seeing as the devices are touted to be arriving in March in many regions, it is highly likely that Canada will also receive the device around the same time.

The Sony Xperia Z will feature some fantastic specs, and these were revealed at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last week.

According to news from the CES 2013, new Sony smartphone will feature a 5-inch, 1080p display, NFC (near-field-communications), a 13-megapixel main camera as well as a water-resistant exterior. It will also feature a 1.5GHz asynchronous quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor with 2GB RAM, one-touch mirroring and 4G LTE.

At the CES 2013 Sony also introduced the new Xperia ZL, which is another high-end smartphone with the same display camera and processor as the Xperia Z. It comes with one-touch mirroring and 4G LTE and has a maximized display with the highest ratio of screen-to-phone size.
