Hosts of the Golden Globes joked that singer Taylor Swift should date the son of Michael J. Fox, but the actor pushed the jokes even further on Wednesday about the 23-year-old romancing his son and her tendency to write about her ex-boyfriends.

Fresh off her split from One Direction's Harry Styles, Swift attended the Golden Globes on Sunday, Jan. 13, alone and the night's hosts, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, used the opportunity to poke fun at the "Safe & Sound" singer.

Fey from onstage and said, "You know what Taylor Swift? You stay away from Michael J. Fox's son," as the audience roared with laughter. Fox's son, 23-year-old Sam, served as Mr. Golden Globe and helped stars on and off the stage.

"Or go for it," co-host Poehler said.

"No!" Fey added. "She needs some 'me' time to learn about herself."

On Jan. 16, Michael told Vulture, "I don't keep up with it at all. Taylor Swift writes songs about everybody she goes out with, right? What a way to build a career.'' The 51-year-old added that if Swift wrote a song about his son he would find it easier to remember her.

''[If the song was] 'Sam, You Piece of S**t.' ...'[I'd go] Oh that was the girl you brought home!' " he said.

Michael was then asked how he would react if Swift showed up at a dinner with his family. He replied with, "I wouldn't even know who she was."

Swift was nominated for her first Golden Globes but lost to Adele, who took home the award for Best Original Song with the theme for the James Bond thriller "Skyfall." The 22-year-old was up for the award for "Safe and Sound," her track from "The Hunger Games" soundtrack.

Rumors swirled that Swift had an interest in getting romantically involved with Bradley Cooper but the actor turned her down. She asked Jennifer Lawrence, 22, to introduce her to the actress' "Silver Linings Playbook" co-star, according to Radar Online. However, Cooper, 38, said he was not interested in Swift and that she was too young for him.
