According to a new report, their shocking encounter at a local restaurant, which included allegations of Messer's alleged drug use, was a complete set up by MTV.

“When Corey and Jeremy went out to get a drink talking about Leah, the show set it up,” the source told Radar Online on Monday. “It was all their doing.”

According to the source, MTV fakery is common.

“They push Jeremy to say things like talking about her drug addiction,” the source explained, adding that editors “will flip the stories around,” leading to an incorrect timeline.

During the scene in question, Calvert told Simms that Messer was dealing with a "prescription pill problem," which seemingly confirmed rumors that had been swirling throughout filming. Simms then told Calvert that if they had done what Messer was doing, they would never even see their children.

Although Messer immediately shot down the claims on Twitter, telling fans that Calvert didn't even like Simms, her first husband, Simms, was ultimately granted primary custody of their twin daughters, 5-year-old Ali and Aleeah, during an October court hearing.

Messer also slammed MTV for scripting the shows in a series of tweets, and told fans she didn't care if she got in trouble.
