The Duggars are back! Or at least some of them, as TLC today unveiled a new promotional clip for daughters Jessa and Jill's spinoff show and announced its premiere date.

Since the success of their hit show on TLC, 19 Kids and Counting, the Duggars have become a household name. When the show aired in 2008, viewers watched in awe and amazement as the family shared their unconventionally wholesome lifestyle with the world.

We knew the Duggars as religious people with strong family values and held them on a pop culture pedestal for over a decade--until the façade gave way and revealed a reality far more sinister than the one we thought we knew.

Over the past six months, members of the devout Baptist family have made some disturbing headlines, and not just for their ever-growing collection of human beings. A nearly decade-old police report, uncovered in May, revealed that Josh Duggar, the family's eldest son and brother, had molested his sisters, as well as another young girl while a teenager. As a result of the scandal, the family lost endorsements, book deals, as well as the millions they were receiving per year. The show was ultimately cancelled over this last summer, and the Duggars' were criticized for misrepresenting themselves on the show.

That scandal was then followed by Josh being named as user of the adultery dating website Ashley Madison when it was hacked in July, which he publicly admitted was true before entering rehab for sex and porn addiction. Oh, and then there was the porn star, who came forward to allege multiple violent sexual encounters with Josh.

The irony is that their flaws have seemingly only made them more interesting to the public and more viable in the media. TLC of course jumped on the opportunity to capitalize on a new angle on the name that had garnered the network so much success.

The network had previously teased a trailer for the three-part spin-off, Jill & Jessa: Counting In,and been vague on when it would air. But now we know to tune in on December 13 at 8 p.m. to see the 90-minute premiere, and at 9 p.m. on December 20 and 27 for the other

BUT the big news is that TLC also released a new promo in which the Duggar women address what we're all curious about: Josh's scandals.

In the clip, which is below, we see Jill explain that her "first thoughts were for Anna," while Jessa adds that "It was heartbreaking to hear what had happened."

The grossly gripping promo goes on to tease that "what comes next will change everything," and concludes neatly on a strategic high note, "We're getting through," says Jessa. "We will come out of this fire," adds Jill.
