Robert Carlyle, who played Begbie in Trainspotting, and will be reprising his role in the upcoming sequel, dished about this character in a recent interview with The Daily Record.

Interestingly, Carlyle believes that Begbie was too crazy to have changed after all these years.

"Begbie is a crazy character so it's hard to say if he's changed. I don't know the script well enough for that. He is what he is, this guy, and I don't think people change that much," he said. "If you look at people over twenty years and see how much they change their hair and look not a lot people do. They kind of tend to be stuck in their ways. I don't know if the moustache is there or if maybe it'll be a bigger moustache."

So fans can be psyched if they were worried about getting a new Begbie, perhaps changed for a good.

"The first Trainspotting was twenty years ago. There is a difference in my acting style now. It changes subtly as the years go by and as you get older you get a bit less angst about it all and a bit more relaxed in it," Carlyle added.

Carlyle was still tight-lipped about the project and didn't give away any legit spoilers, he did reveal though that Kelly MacDonald was also coming back.

"We are trying to keep a lid on it. I can speak for everyone involved in the production by saying we are really looking forward to it. All the actors, the two Ewans and Johnny. I can't tell you they are absolutely fabulous scripts and would have to be to entice Danny Boyle and Kelly MacDonald and all other actors to do it. We are very proud of it," he said.
