A Paris-based Iranian actress was exiled from her native country after posing topless in French magazine Madame Le Figaro.

According to The Telegraph, Golshifteh Farahani appeared in a black and white photo with her hands placed over her breasts. Farahani later used the image on her Facebook page, which incited a wave of comments and criticism. The actress was then informed of her banishment.

“I was told by a Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guide official that Iran does not need any actors or artists. You may offer your artistic services somewhere else,” said Farahani.

In 2008, Farahani starred in Ridley Scott’s Body of Lies with Leonardo DiCaprio making her the first Iranian actor to appear in a major Hollywood movie.
