Lady Gaga has conquered the world of music and now she can say she's a bonafide actress.

Gaga was just nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance as The Countess in FX's American Horror Story: Hotel, as the HFPA announced today.

The pop superstar is nominated for Best Performance By An Actress In a Mini-series or Motion Picture Made for Television, alongside Kirsten Dunst from FX's Fargo, Sarah Hay from Starz's Flesh & Bone, Felicity Huffman of ABC's American Crime and Queen Latifah of HBO's Bessie.

Lady Gaga Reveals How Her 'American Horror Story' Role 'Helps' Her Anxiety & Depression

Gaga is beyond thrilled to have received this nomination - especially considering this is her first major acting role. She tweeted soon after the nomination was announced:

She was the only American Horror Story actor or actress to be nominated for a Golden Globe this year. The series was also nominated in Best Mini-Series Or Motion Picture Made for Television, where it will compete with American Crime, Fargo, Flesh & Bone and PBS's Wolf Hall.

All five of the performances in Gaga's category have been acclaimed, so it's anyone's guess who might take home the Golden Globe. Gaga's star power might be too big to ignore for some voters, and it's possible they will want to see her up on the stage accepting the award.

The Golden Globes will air live on Sunday, Jan. 10 starting at 8/7c on NBC. Ricky Gervais is returning to host the ceremony, replacing the hosts from the last three years, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
