The first trailer for Richard Linklater's new film Everybody Wants Some has been released, and it is so very 1980s.

Everybody Wants Some centers on college baseball players in the '80s who are ready to embrace a brave new world with no adult supervision. The cast is comprised of mostly younger, no-name actors but based on the trailer, we may know their names very soon.

The film has been described as a spiritual sequel to Dazed and Confused, the 1993 Linklater film taking place in the '70s that helped make stars out of Matthew McConaughey, Ben Affleck, Milla Jovovich, Parker Posey, Jason London and Rory Cochrane.

Find Out Who Was Nominated For Critics' Choice Awards

Everybody Wants Some stars Blake Jenner, Ryan Guzman, Tyler Hoechline, Wyatt Russell, Zoey Deutch, Glen Powell and Will Brittain.

This is an interesting choice for Linklater to make in the wake of his massive critical success Boyhood. Linklater received many awards for his directing and producing of Boyhood, which took 12 years to film. The movie was nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards and actress Patricia Arquette won Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Olivia.

Given its lightweight feeling, Everybody Wants Some probably won't have similar awards success, but the trailer features many quotes from movie reviewers touting its excellence.

Everybody Wants Some will be released in theaters on April 15, 2016.
