Doctor Who is in the market for a new companion, and soon Steven Moffat may be on the hunt for a new Doctor as well.

Matt Smith regenerated into Peter Capaldi's Twelfth Doctor as season 7 came to a close, and the Time Lord may make way for the Thirteenth iteration at the end of season 10.

"This could be my final year - it's terrifying," Capaldi informed the Telegraph, stating that there are other roles he wants the chance to pursue.

That's not to say the Scotsman wants to leave the TARDIS behind. Unfortunately, it is the nature of the role.

"There will come a time when this is over. But I knew that when I started," Capaldi explained. "When you accept the job you know there'll come a day, inevitably, when you'll be saying goodbye."

Despite rumors, season 10 will have just as many episodes as it's predecessors. While filming will begin a little later than normal, Whovians will be treated to 12 episodes plus a Christmas special.
