Vogue released photos on Monday from the inside editoral spread and cover story for its next issue featuring Beyoncé.

The singer, 31, appears in the March Power 2013 issue of Vogue. In the photos, the Halo singer wears a Audrey Hepburn-esque hairstyle while donning a high fashion looks from various designers including Oscar De LA Renta, Haider Ackermann and Alexander McQueen. The images were taken by famed fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier.

After baring plenty of skin with Terry Richardson for GQ's February 2013 issue, Beyoncé went the elegant route for VOGUE, the world's leading fashion publication. She wore a variety ensembles seen on fashion runways in Paris and London. She did, however, bare her cleavage for one photo.

Vogue writer Jason Gay interviewed Beyoncé on the set of an upcoming L'Oreal commercial, a few weeks before she sang for President Obama on Inauguration Day and performed at the Super Bowl 2013 halftime show.

Beyonce spoke about her daughter Blue Ivy Carter for the first time in an interview, telling Gay she considers her 1-year-old her "road dog," her " homey" and "best friend." Beyoncé discussed her pregnancy and the connection she felt with her unborn child during her labor.

"I felt very maternal around eight months," Beyonce told Vogue. "And I thought I couldn't become any more until I saw the baby. . . . But it happened during my labor because I had a very strong connection with my child. I felt like when I was having contractions, I envisioned my child pushing through a very heavy door.

"And I imagined this tiny infant doing all the work, so I couldn't think about my own pain. . . . We were talking. I know it sounds crazy, but I felt a communication."

The Houston native admitted that pregnancy at first scared her, but her fears went away thanks to support of her family and close friends who were with her when she gave birth.

"My family and my closest people were there when I gave birth," she told Vogue. "Everything that scared me just was not present in that room. So for me to really let go and really appreciate every contraction . . . it was the best day of my life."

Beyonce became emotional and cried when she discussed her upcoming HBO documentary, saying the process was like therapy for her.

"This movie has healed me in so many ways," she said. "It makes me want to cry. I'm sorry..I'm very passionate about it, and it just feels good."

Life Is But A Dream will air on HBO on Feb. 16 at 9 p.m. EST
