While the Korean giant has already solidified itself as a major player in the smartphone game, Samsung has a lot to prove when 2016 rolls around. As Forbes reports, Samsung will be under a ton of pressure to prove its worthiness to consumers and has to essentially stir the pot. Anticipation for what Samsung has in store with the release of the Galaxy S7 and Edge flagships put Samsung in a position to organize a strategic launch.

According to Slashgear, unnamed sources support the speculation that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S7 and Edge at Mobile World Congress 2016 (MWC) in Februray. One of the World's largest network carriers in the world with more than 800 million subscribers, China Mobile confirms the tipsters' release date theory. This tip comes from a leaked image of a smartphone release date timeline taken at a recent China Mobile conference. According to the release date info posted on the Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge is slated to hit stores within a couple of weeks after Samsung takes the wraps off. This puts the devices in stores during the early weeks of March.

Despite staying true to tradition with the MWC reveal of its seventh generation Galaxy S series phone, Samsung isn't waiting over a month to sell the phone as it did with the Galaxy S6. The current model flagship was announced at MWC 2015 on March 1 the phone wasn't available in stores until April 10. Samsung is also allegedly gunning for an early release of one of its lower-tiered Galaxy A series phones. Both expected to also arrive sometime in March, either the Galaxy A7 or A5 could land on the U.S.retail market sooner in comparison to other regions. As a reminder, tips, rumors and leaks are always to be taken with a grain of salt.
