Good news for fans of ABC's Castle: The show's leads picked up some People's Choice Awards last night!

Will 'Castle' Finale Also Work As Series Ender For Rick & Kate?

Nathan Fillion, who plays Richard Castle, and Stana Katic, who plays Kate Beckett, both took home People's Choice Awards this year. The dynamic duo won Favorite Crime Drama TV Actor and Favorite Crime Drama TV Actress.

Fillion was up against Jim Caviezel, LL Cool J, Mark Harmon and Shemar Moore. While Fillion's category placement has shifted at the awards show over the years, he has collected a People's Choice Award three out of the past four years.

Meanwhile, Katic beat out Emily Deschanel, Lucy Liu, Mariska Hargitay and Pauley Perrette. This is Katic's third consecutive win.

Castle itself was nominated for Favorite TV Crime Drama, where it was up against Fox's Bones and three CBS dramas, Criminal Minds, NCIS and Person of Interest. The show lost to Person of Interest this time around. Castle had previously won the past four years in this category.

So despite many fans complaining about the trajectory of the series in season 8, the fanbase remains dedicated to getting its stars some trophies. The show made a big move with Castle and Beckett early in season 8 by temporarily splitting the pair up. Many fans disliked the move, but now there is hope again based on the developments of the midseason finale.

Castle returns for the second half of season 8 on Monday, Feb. 1 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
