A former beauty queen has been sentenced to 4 years in prison for a 2003 in the so-called “Drop Dead Gorgeous” murder case.

Former beauty queen, Peggy Sue Thomas, reportedly agreed a plea bargain in the 2003 murder case.

Thomas was allegedly an accessory to the murder of Russell Douglas, who was found shot dead in his car just days after Christmas 2003.

Investigators believe Thomas helped lure Douglas to a remote area where her then-boyfriend, James Huden, shot and killed the man.

Huden has since been sentenced to 80 years in prison, but Thomas has stated that she took no part in the shooting. She has, however, agreed to enter a guilty plea in exchange for a plea bargain that would recommended she serve a four year sentence.

The plea agreement has angered family members of the victim, however, who believe that she did take part in the murder and that Douglas would not have been murdered without Thomas’ help.

"It seems like a travesty of the basic sense of justice that she would be sentenced to less than four years in prison for the cold and premeditated act that could not have happened without her involvement," the victim's father, Jim Douglas, said in court on Friday, KOMO has reported.

Thomas was a friend to Douglas' wife, Brenna Douglas, who was also considered a suspect at some point in the case.

Some reports allege that Thomas and Huden planned the murder with Douglas' wife in an attempt to collect on a $500,000 life insurance plan that would be shared between the three of them.

Breanna Douglas has since moved and maintains that she had no part in the killing.
