Britney Spears attended Elton John's annual AIDS Foundation Academy award viewing party on Sunday, Feb. 24 and made quite an impression. Spears, 31, arrived as a brunette.

The Toxic singer changed her tresses from the signature blonde locks she is known for to a chestnut color that complimented her.

Spears' visit to the viewing party was brief; she arrived at 10:15pm and left around 11pm, but left an impression with the crowd. According to People, everybody at the party couldn't stop talking about how great she looked.

Spears wore a stunning black sequins column gown with a plunging neckline by Michael Cinco Couture. She accessorized the formfitting formalwear with De Grisogono jewelry and Saint Laurent shoes.

Spears hit John's event, held at City of West Hollywood Park, with her manager Larry Rudolph and her publicist. She did not attend with her new boyfriend David Lucado.

"Britney seemed anxious to see who was going to be the special guest performer," an eyewitness told Us Weekly. "She was smiling and stayed fixated on the stage."

Emeli Sande, a new singer from Scotland. performed for the crowd full of celebrities. Sande sang Heaven, Next to Me and Clown  for a crowd of heavy hitters including Miley Cyrus, Ryan Kwanten, Kim Kardashian, Chad Michael Murray, Heidi Klum, Chris Brown, Emma Roberts, Ian Somerhalder, Nicki Minaj and Jim Carrey.
