There's been endless amounts of speculation about his character's fate on the upcoming season of Game of Thrones, but Kit Harington still maintains that Jon Snow is dead, and he isn't coming back to the show.

The actor, who was spotted in Belfast filming with the rest of the cast despite his character appearing to die in the final moments of the season five finale when his fellow brothers from the Night's Watch betrayed him and stabbed him, talked about his fate in a new interview with Digital Spy-and reiterated his earlier sentiments from last year that Jon is dead, and fans need to let go and move on without him.

"People don't want me to die, but he's dead. So there you go, everyone has to get used to it," he said.

Adding to his statement that his character wouldn't be back, Harington hinted that if his character were to make an appearance in the new season, it would be minimal-because he says he hasn't filmed scenes for the show in a long period of time-which gave him the chance to focus on other projects, including a run in the London production of Doctor Faustus.

"I haven't done Thrones in a while," he said. "I had quite a lot of time off last year. I've been taking it easy. And relaxing. When I realized I was doing this [the play], I had a few months to prepare for it, and something like this takes some working through before even getting into the rehearsal room."

Game of Thrones season 6 premieres April 24 on HBO.
