Monty Brinson was reportedly at odds with his ex-wife, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kim Richards, and their daughter, Brooke Brinson, at the time of his death.

According to a new report, Brinson became upset in the final moments of his life after his daughter reportedly left town.

"Monty was so upset the Brooke wasn't with him and went out of town," a source told Radar Online on Wednesday. "He was telling friends that he was really hurt by Brooke and didn't understand why she would do what she did."

However, according to the source, Brinson may not have been all there at the time of the alleged feud, which likely led to his aggressions.

"Monty was in no frame of mind to be talking with anyone," the source explained to Radar. "Monty was furious at Kim too. He didn't understand why she didn't make Brooke stay and be with him."

Following Brinson's death, his daughter shared a heartfelt message with her friends and followers.

"Yesterday we lost an amazing man," Brinson wrote on Instagram on Monday. "My father fought till the very end and never gave up. He was surrounded by everyone he loved and went peacefully. Today is bittersweet knowing that he is at peace and doesn't have to fight this horrible disease anymore. Thank you everyone for your kind words. I know he is looking down and checking his Instagram. I love you SO much Dad. Thank you for being the best father you could be to me and my sisters. I will miss everything about you. You always called me your angel but now you are my guardian angel. Until we meet again..."
