'Downton Abbey' Actor Reveals What He'll Miss The Most About Series

On Monday, New York Times posted an interview with Laura Carmichael, known as Lady Edith on the British drama. She mentioned that things have changed with Edith and her sister Mary since they've had so much bickering pretty much from the start. While it's possible that things could still be different with the rest of the season, Carmichael pointed out how much she's enjoyed being a part of these moments.

"In the final season, I think [series creator] Julian [Fellowes] really wanted to look at that and see how these women would change, if there would be any resolution and how that would work," the actress said. "For Michelle [Dockery who plays Mary] and I, it's one of our favorite story lines. We are really close now; we've grown up with each other on set. So it's really fun to do."

Carmichael then mentioned that she's enjoyed some of the final moments of what's left of the series, but kept it pretty coy on what that might entail.

"I love the last few episodes for lots of reasons, but it depends how much you want to tell your readers," she said.

There was only so much that could be revealed about this so Carmichael left it at that.

Downton Abbey airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on PBS.
