He's doing whatever he can to get Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) back, and Steve's (Stephen Nichols) latest attempt to get Ava (Tamara Braun) to release her will be perhaps his most shocking one yet on Days of Our Lives.

He's already been keeping Ava captive in his house as he tries to fulfill the terms she gave him to get Kayla back--by finding the boy she claims is their son, the one who was sold on the black market. But with just one lead to go on and no real hope that he'll succeed, he is trying to find a way to fool Ava with seductive measures.

Ava didn't believe him when he said he wanted to go with her to locate their son, forcing him to surprise her with a passionate kiss--one she may believe is from the heart, even though it is just a tactic to try and get what he wants out of her. However, the calculated move could prove to be an even bigger risk after his son with Kayla, Joey (James Lastovic), walks in and catches them together.

Joey was the initial pawn in Ava's game and was used to get Steve and Kayla back together before Ava went through with the rest of her plan. In the meantime, he managed to fall for her and was devastated when he learned they couldn't be together--even more so when Steve revealed who she really was to him and what she had done to his mother. Now, when he catches his father in that passionate lip lock, he could wind up no longer believing anything his father tells him, putting the plan in even more jeopardy.
