Kristin Cavallari Gives Specifics On How She Stayed Healthy Since Giving Birth

Nearly 12 years after the series premiere of the MTV reality series, which served as the basis for The Hills years later, the reality star turned designer admitted she wasn't in a great place mentally while filming the show.

"On Laguna Beach I came off like the person who really had my s--t together," Cavallari recalled to Momtastic. "But I was a mess — like most teenagers. I was really unhappy. There’s a saying that you have to learn to love yourself before anyone else can love you, and it’s very true."

How Is Kristin Cavallari Coping With Her Brother's Shocking Death?

Years later, after Lauren Conrad quit her role on The Hills, Cavallari joined the show as a villain -- and enjoyed it.

"I looked at it strictly as a job; we filmed three different scenes, three days a week," she explained. "I knew the character they wanted me to play, and this time I was game... It was fun to play up the villain character."

Now married to Jay Cutler, quarterback for the Chicago Bears, Cavallari is mom to three children, and doesn't appear to be planning for more.

"I am one of those rare women who doesn't mind being pregnant. The first time was the most enjoyable for me. I didn't have to look after another baby," Cavallari said. "At the end of my third pregnancy, I was so exhausted after chasing both boys around all day. I'd also be lying if I didn't say I was excited to close that chapter in my life. I'm looking forward to giving away my maternity clothes!"
