Man Kills TV Host Gregory Rodriguez of 'A Rifelman's Journal', Then Kills Self [Photo, Video]
Wayne Bengston of Montana shot and killed Gregory G. Rodriguez, the host of "A Rifleman's Journal," while the host was visiting the shooter's wife on Thursday night.
According to the Associated Press, it wasn't clear how Rodrigeuz, 43, and Wayne Bengston's wife were acquainted. After Bengston killed Rodriquez, he reportedly beat his wife, took his 2-year-old son to a relative's house and then drove 25 miles away where he killed himself.
Police found Bengston, 41, in his house in West Glacier with what they believed was a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
The TV host for the Sportsman Channel show was from Sugar Land, Texas. The Associated Press reports that Bengston's wife told police that Rodriguez was in town on business and decided to visit her at her mother's house.
Rodriguez, who had two children and a wife, was the founder and CEO of Global Adventure Outfitters in Texas. According to the site's bio, the company is "a full-time booking agency representing some of the finest trophy hunting and wing shooting outfitters around the world."
According to Rodriguez's about section, he is a conservationist and was a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association.
