It was an unlikely hit for Discovery Channel, and the continual increase in demos week-after-week has officially led to an additional episode order for true crime docu-series Killing Fields.

Something About The Eugenie Boisfontaine Case 'Tears' Rodie Sanchez Apart

The show, which followed detectives in Iberville Parish, Louisiana, as they reopened a cold case concerning the murder of Eugenie Boisfontaine and followed them as they tried to uncover who murdered her, delivered a solid 2.45 million viewers on its Feb. 9 finale, soon after the news that an additional six episodes were ordered. However, there is no word yet on when the new episodes will air.

Here's what we do know so far about the new season:

Detectives Think Someone Is 'Afraid' To Talk To Them About Eugenie

It will once again follow a cold-case

The show was billed before its premiere as one which followed the case of murders where bodies were found in 'Killing Fields'--the kinds of places where bodies are dumped by killers. Iberville Parish's bayous were the site where Eugenie's body was found-and there are several other places like it throughout the U.S.

Here's what is still up in the air:

Whether we will see Rodie Sanchez and Aubrey St. Angelo again

The case didn't end on quite the best of closed notes, meaning there's a chance that the new episodes could follow them again as they continue following Eugenie's case-or perhaps even another one.

If we will pick up with Eugenie's case again, or start fresh

However, even though Eugenie's case still isn't technically closed, these so-called killing fields aren't only located in Louisiana. Other similar areas can be found throughout the U.S.--and there are likely plenty of cold cases that still need to be solved. The show could return with the investigation into a new case, in a new location-and with new detectives.
