Kiefer Sutherland and Demi Moore are longtime friends, but are they also an item?

After shooting the new film Forsaken together, Sutherland and Moore faced rumors of a possible romance, but in a new interview, he set the record straight, confirming nothing romantic was happening between them.

"First of all, as honored as I would be if that were true, it is not true," Sutherland told Entertainment Tonight of the reports on Wednesday. "Demi is a friend of mine."

"You have to kind of ride with it and try to clear things up as much as you can," he explained of the rumors.

In Forsaken, Sutherland and Moore play love interests, but in the film, a western flick, she's married to another man.

"I just think she's an extraordinary actor and she has a real pioneer spirit," Sutherland said of his co-star. "I think of the women that helped break through to the West of this country, and helped develop the West of this country. They were incredibly strong and Demi is an incredibly strong woman."

"To her credit, I remember the first day I saw her on set, and she wasn't wearing any makeup," he recalled. "She had taken on the role with that kind of gyrator that I was so impressed with. I can't speak highly enough of the work that she did in the movie, and how I think of her as a person."
