In a new promo released on Monday, the characters will reflect back on their lives and how they've come to be the people they are today. Edith's love life still has its share of ups and downs while Mary contemplates if she saw how things would come in the end.

Speaking of Mary, things might work out in her favor as she shares a sweet kiss. Plus, Mr. Carson and Mrs. Hughes continue to show their sweet chemistry as they take on a new journey together.

There will likely be some big surprises coming that will have shock as well as satisfaction since everyone is going to do something that can only lead into something epic.

Meanwhile, there's been a rumor that the series might get a movie following the final season. In a previous post from The Sun, executive producer Gareth Neame said he was "keen" on the idea of a feature film based on the British drama.

"There is no script and no firm plan, but it's certainly something there is talk of," Neame said. "We're not in denial about anything. We'll know more next year."

The producer pointed out that the series could've potentially lasted longer, but everyone is still satisfied with how it turned out.

"We all feel very blessed," he said. "Nobody regrets ending when we did. We have a final season that's as strong as the first because we quit while we were ahead. We had the ambition that we had a complete show."

The final episode of Downton Abbey airs on Sunday, March 6 at 9 p.m. ET on Masterpiece.
