In a recent interview with The Guardian, Neve Campbell dished about her role in Season 4 of House of Cards.

Plot Will Have 'Genuine Upsets' And Feature 'Mind-Bending Cameos'

The report reveals a lot about Campbell's role as Leann Harvey, "a hard-boiled, ambitious, Democratic fund-raiser." Aspects of Leann's role in the Underwood's are laden with plot reveals, for instance Claire (Robin Wright) will very much still be part of the political game. It is revealed that Claire will actually ask Leann to help fund her campaign to help her win a seat in Texas. In fact Claire will actually need that push from Leann to help bring Frank (Kevin Spacey) down.

Campbell also revealed how the role came to her at the right time and made perfectly accomodated her other personal obligations.

"I couldn't have asked for a better role after a few years away having a child. I don't want to carry a network show. I don't want to give up 10 months, working 17 hours a day, up at five in the morning," she said. "Not with a three-and-a half-year-old son. I don't crave that attention. I've had it, don't need it again. So this is perfect."

The actress also spoke about Wright's work ethic and how it was different from her own.

"She's driven to go beyond acting. I'm not so driven. I don't have control issues either," she said.

After being a part of a show that portrays such a dark side of American politics, Campbell revealed that it made her appreciate her Canadian heritage.

"Everything about American politics," she replies, "makes me proud to be Canadian,"she said.

Season 4 of House of Cards is set to return on March 4.
