Hodgins (T.J. Thyne) may be happy when we see him again in the midseason premiere of Fox's Bones, but that will not last, unfortunately.

It won't be an easy ride for Hodgins now that he was paralyzed in the wake of the devastating events of the midseason finale last December.

Even if he is maintaining a positive attitude in spite of everything, he'll be brought down by a few factors in the midseason premiere. Cam (Tamara Taylor) will reportedly be a big factor in Hodgins' "emotional setback," according to a new TVLine report. There will also be another big setback after Hodgins receives a phone call, though TVLine did not reveal who is on the other line.

There will also be some moments of "angst" between Hodgins and Angela (Michael Conlin) in the coming episodes. Colin spoke with TVLine previously about the changing dynamic between Angela and Hodgins. "There are different stages of adapting to a tragedy like this, and right now we're in the stage of Hodgins giving up a little bit."

This will be the beginning of the end for Bones, as many fans know. Fox has decided to end the show officially with a shortened 12th season after the conclusion of the current 11th season. Stars Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz, who play Brennan and Booth, respectively, have both commented on the announcement that Bones is coming to an end.

"I am thrilled the show will have the ending it deserves for all of our amazing, loyal fans!" Deschanel said in a statement.

"This is for the fans! Thank you to everyone at Fox and of course [network co-chairmen] Dana [Walden] and Gary [Newman] - for all your support," Boreanaz added. "Thank you to [executive producers] Hart [Hanson], Stephen [Nathan], Ian [Toynton], Michael [Peterson] and Jonathan [Collier]. Also to the crew and cast for their countless support along the way! And I couldn't have done it without you, Emily!"

Bones returns for the second half of season 11 on Thursday, April 14 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
