Adele and Robbie Williams Duet For New Album, First Time for the Oscar Winner
After refusing multiple offers throughout the years, Oscar winner Adele agreed to sing a duet on Robbie Williams' next album, according to The Sun.
Williams' last album, 2001's Swing When You're Winning, was his biggest seller and he reportedly already scheduled studio time later in the year to record music with Adele.
In 2009, Adele talked about recording with other artists, "I'm not doing collaborations. I love to sing with people live rather than on record." However, she added, "If I could do one with anyone - Robbie? Any day."
The news report quoted a source that said the two singers "have really hit it off."
"They are great friends and talked at length about doing something together when she was in LA with him ahead of the Oscars last month," the insider added. "They threw some ideas around but haven't decided exactly what song they'd like to work on, things are in the early stages."
Williams, 38, is set to kick off his European tour later this year. When fans ask why he is not visiting their home towns to perform, he said he thinks it would be bad for his health to try to fit in so many places.
''By going everywhere in 2006 I ended up in rehab. I just haven't got the kind of engine needed to do that. Sorry if you feel left out but I have to protect myself," he said.
Adele recently won an Oscar for her James Bond theme song Skyfall. The 24-year-old's last album was 2011's 21 and it is the fourth-biggest selling album of all time in the United Kingdom, according to Metro. No news regarding when she will come out with a new album but sources hinted that she has been working on new songs since the birth of her son in fall 2012.
