Get those hover boards ready; Outlander is channeling Back to the Future.

Claire (Caitriona Balfe) made a life for herself in the 18th century, but the standing stones will whisk her away once more as season 2 beings. Goodbye tartans and castles, hello post-war austerity.

Dragonfly in Amber opens in 1968 Iverness, but, although the sophomore run is based on Diana Gabaldon's second novel, showrunner Ron Moore kept the premiere timeline strictly under wraps. With the release of the "Through a Glass, Darkly" logline, however, Outlander has confirmed Claire's return to some point in the 20th century.

"Returning to her own time in the 20th century, Claire must reconcile her future with the life and love she left behind," Starz teased. "Shifting back to 18th century, Jamie (Sam Heughan), Claire, and Murtagh (Duncan Lacroix) arrive on the shores of France to turn the tides of history, but quickly learn that Paris presents its own unique set of challenges."

The flower-power years won't be the only 1900s stop on Outlander's hit parade.

"There's the '40s, and there'll be some '60s as well," Moore told TV Insider. "There's a lot of time travel."

The entire affair will be a lot for Frank (Tobias Menzies) to get his head around mentally, not to mention an intense emotional burden for both halves of the Randall couple.

"He's been through two years," Menzies explained. "He thinks he lost Claire. He's someone who's been through a lot. We see him having to grapple with some of the stranger premises about the show. He's being told about time travel, so you see him up against those profoundly unnerving questions."
