Michael Strahan 'GMA' Salary: He Hasn't Spoken To Kelly Ripa Since Announcement
It looks like Kelly Ripa is definitely not taking Michael Strahan’s exit from ABC’s Live! With Kelly & Michael very well at all.
Word is the two have not even spoken since Strahan’s upcoming departure was announced at a meeting for the morning talk show.
One insider revealed to E! News Thursday evening that the two have not even spoken since Tuesday morning, when his exit was revealed. It also came out that he was heading to Good Morning America.
The source said, “He has no bad blood towards her at this point and is looking forward to start his new chapter with his new team.”
Strahan also made an appearance on Good Morning America Thursday morning and despite not speaking with Ripa yet, he gave her a special message.
“I’m going to miss everybody at ‘Live!’ I’ve been sitting next to Kelly every day and having a lot of fun on that show for the last four years. I’m very thankful for her – to her—because I learned so much for her.”
Strahan then pointed out that this was his first gig as a talk show host and thanked the show’s executive producer Michael Gelman for his support.
“I was so new to all of this. If it weren’t for her, if it weren’t for Michael Gelman and the staff there that really boosted me up and made me look a lot better than I really am, I never would have had a chance to be here.”
As for Ripa, she is said to be “Livid” about the news as word spread that she had no clue about Strahan’s plans.
