"I was the beginning, and I will be the end. I will be all that there is."

Those Ominous words sprang from the lips of the Darkness in "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou," and the phrase will undoubtedly come back into play when Supernatural takes on its season 11 finale. After all, episode 23 will rip its title straight from the pages of Revelations.

Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) will close out the season with "Alpha and Omega," according to Spoiler TV. As per the season's divine theme, the phrase is utilized in Christianity as an appellation for God. Of course, the Greek letters also enjoy wide usage in secular parlance simply to signify "the beginning and the end."

The title begs the question - will God really show his face? There are many who believe Chuck Shurley (Rob Benedict) is a vessel for the divine, meaning that query could easily be answered when Benedict return for episode 20 (the actor will also feature in episodes 22 and 23). For some viewers, however, keeping God as an aloof and absent enigma could be the smarter play. While the Winchesters have battled multiple pagan divinities over the years, the Almighty's disappearing act has allowed the series to maintain a level of humanism that could easily evaporate in the presence of such a powerful supernatural being.

Whatever the case, viewers will definitely be treated to a series of intriguing twists between this week's "Chitters" and May's finale.

"Some seriously weird stuff is coming down the pipe," Misha Collins (Castiel/Lucifer) told fans at Creation Entertainment's Las Vegas Salute to Supernatural. "I told some of my friends some of the stuff that's in the final scripts that we're shooting now and they're like, 'That's awesome...I think I might watch the show.'"
