David Boreanaz will be heavily involved with the final few episodes of Bones' currently 11th season.

One of the upcoming episodes of Bones will be a big showcase for Boreanaz's Booth, as Bones showrunner Michael Peterson explained in a new TVLine report.

"It involves the death of a Secret Service agent and Booth gets called in [to assist]," Peterson said of the episode, which is said to be inspired by the 1993 film In the Line of Fire. "There are huge stakes and it's a great action episode for David."

Then there's the season 11 finale, which has been tentative scheduled for July 21. This episode will be directed by Boreanaz himself and will serve as the ending of the serial killer arc (which will be introduced in Thursday's episode).

"It's going to be as big a climax as we've ever done," Peterson promised. As for the possibility of any deaths in the finale, Peterson teased, "You never know... "

In other major Bones news, Peterson revealed to TVLine in another report that he intends to bring back Zack Addy (Eric Millegan) for the show's final season.

"It seems like the right thing to do," Peterson said. "I will say this: I know what the fans want, and as much of a roller coaster ride as we may put them through, we want to deliver."

Millegan was a prominent member of the cast in the first three seasons before it was revealed that Zack was involved with the wrong crowd. Zack would ultimately be institutionalized, though Millegan has shown up here and there throughout the run of the series.

"I watched the show before I was ever writing on the show, and I think what Eric brought to that character was fantastic," Peterson explained. "I'll make a promise to try really hard to make it happen."

Bones airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
