Dark Souls III is a game that made a name for itself by being uncharacteristically brutal towards its gamers. With a default difficulty that's already bordering on insane, it stands as one of the most challenging mainstream titles of today. Notably, this very fact has made it doubly endearing to its legion of gamers.

Call it masochistic, but players of Dark Souls III play the game to tackle the extremely steep mountain of tribulations that it requires. For the game's fans, of course, there could never be too much of a good thing.

Thus, if Dark Souls III is, God forbid, too easy for you, here are some tips to make it even more challenging! And, no, we are not even kidding.

The Symbol of Avarice

The Symbol of Avarice is a helmet which could be dropped whenever you kill a Mimic. Equipping the grotesque helmet drastically improves your item Discovery stats, but it does have one very notable drawback. It quickly drains your character's health while the helmet is equipped.

The Calamity Ring

The Calamity Ring could be acquired in Archdragon Peak. Once equipped, your character gets a boost. Well, in damages received from attacks, anyway. There's just no better way to scream "Bring me more pain!" than equipping this ring.

The Clutch Rings

The Fire, Dark, Lightning and Magic Clutch Rings actually give your character the ability to deal pretty good damage utilizing the rings' specific element. However, the rings do have one tiny drawback--they decrease your character's defenses, significantly.

The Skull Ring

This ring is dropped off at Ludleth of Courland. Equipping this ring allows your character to be detected by enemies a lot faster. Apart from this, the ring also serves as a sign for bosses to consider your character as their no. 1 priority.

New Game Plus

Just like classic RPGs of old, Dark Souls III allows you to repeat the game with all of your acquired equipment. There's just one little tidbit to remember, though. Enemies in New Game Plus are a ton harder than normal. Because, well, why not?

Of course, utilizing any of these items would most probably result in a significant number of unwanted deaths. In order to curb this, players could still utilize the unlimited souls glitch found last month, which enables players to acquire millions of souls every hour.

Then again, utilizing cheats on a Dark Souls game is almost defeating the purpose of the game itself. After all, one plays Dark Souls for the challenge, never the ease.
