The popular musical Glee will cast Sons of Anarchy star Katey Sagal, as revealed by co-creator Ryan Murphy.

The actress will join the show's fourth season to play Artie's (Kevin McHale) mother.

Sagal's selection fulfilled a wish of McHale's last summer, when he said at Comic-Con that he had envisioned the Married... With Children and Futurama star to fill the role. He responded to the news on Twitter with an enthusiastic "Wooo!" and following up early Friday by tweeting, "Artie's gettin a hot mama."

Although it has not yet been indicated whether Artie's parents will both be cast, the actor is already envisioning Harry Connick Jr. in the role of his father.

The excitement was shared with others involved in the making of Glee, with Murphy tweeting Thursday, "So thrilled to announce my friend Katey Sagal is playing Artie's mom on Glee! There is nothing this woman can't do!"

It is unclear how many episodes Sagal will appear in on the show.

Sagal also stars in a comedy project, Sons of Anarchy, and the actress will become Glee's latest high profile guest star to play a family member.

Glee will return on April 11 at 9 p.m. on Fox.
