Nickelodeon fans are about to see Amanda Bynes in her glory days again.

On Monday, Refinery 29 announced that the popular sitcom The Amanda Show will be back with reruns on television beginning on Friday, June 10 at 11 p.m. ET on TeenNick.

Bynes became a comedy icon with this series where she performed in a number of hysterical skits, including Judge Trudy, The Girls' Room and her number one fan Penelope Taynt going out of her way to meet the star.

Executive vice president of TeenNick Keith Dawkins made it pretty clear why the network decided to start airing these episodes again.

"I feel like that's almost a rhetorical question, like you know the answer to that already," Dawkins said. "Just bringing great humor, great narrative, great storytelling to a generation of kids who wanted that at the time. I think that holds up today."

This is also a great time for the show to be on since women in comedy have more power.

"People have kind of a short memory with history," Dawkins said. "A woman being funny, leading content, and being like The Carol Burnett Show is not a new idea. We forget about it. Women can lead content. Women can lead the charge."

The vice president added that this isn't about putting anyone in charge, but about giving something special to viewers.

"We're not here to alienate anyone," he said. "We're here to reflect what's going on in kids' lives, which allowed us to out young girls front and center in our content. We're reflecting our audience."

"It's less about what's happening in Hollywood and more about what our audience is asking us to do," he added.

Dawkins also said that he hopes 90's kids will "lose their minds" when the show returns.
