Z Nation's Lucy is a growing girl, one who needs a little human connection to balance out her zombie playgroup. As season 3 picks up, the little tween/teen hybrid will get just that.

Murphy's (Keith Allan) daughter is growing like a weed. She sped through childhood - tea parties and all - during season 2, and the smurfette will be nearing her teens this fall. Now that Operation Bitemark's mission has reached a crossroads, tracking down the youngster will be high on their radar (especially now that a bounty hunters on her tail).

"The mission is sort of taking a sharp turn, and this thing that was guiding her for a long time is a moving target once again," Anastasia Baranova (Addy) said at Walker Staker Con in Chicago. "Without sort of having 'Murphy's the mission' or 'this is the mission,' we sort of figure out who is she now and what's her purpose now."

When a new rogue can't get his hands on Murphy, he will turn his attention to the blend's next of kin. Our heroes will splinter off in different directions for the beginning of the season, and Addy will be one member of Warren's (Kellita Smith) crew that retraces their steps back to Lucy's foster family.

"We go after baby Lucy. We saw at the end of season 2 that Lucy is alive so we go after Lucy and Addy and Lucy develop whole relationship," Barranova explained. "I don't even know what happens there, but that's what I'm told."

When the team does meet up with the pint-sized blend, she will be ready to head straight into her moody teenage years.

"In the course of this season, she's going to grow up to be a teenager," series creator Karl Schaefer told TV Insider. "She's going to be a force to be reckoned with."

Catch up with Operation Bitemark when Z Nation returns to Syfy this fall.
