Lauryn Hill, who is facing jail time for income tax evasion, is also facing eviction from her New Jersey home.

According to TMZ, Hill, 37, has not paid rent on the South Orange, New Jersey mansion she lives in with her six children since last month, according to a lawsuit filed by her landlord.

The mother-of-six is scheduled to appear in court next week to face sentencing for tax fraud. Hill pled guilty to federal charges against her for income tax evasion in June. She failed to file tax returns in 2005, 2006, and 2007 and now owes $1.6 million to the IRS.

Hill filed papers on April 15 that states the reason why she failed to pay. She wrote that she "withdrew from society at large due to what she perceived as manipulation and very real threats to herself and her family." Hill wrote the letter as a last-minute effort to prevent jail time citing that if she is sent to jail she will be unable to pay off her tax debt so she is asking for probation.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the That Thing singer earned approximately $1.8 million during the three years she failed to pay. Hill will learn the judge's decision on April 22.

Hill wrote in an earlier blog post that she disappeared from the public because of the "climate of hostility, false entitlement, manipulation, racial prejudice, sexism and ageism" in popular culture.

Hill who rose to fame in 1990s as a member of the New Jersey-based rap group The Fugees, rose to international stardom following the release of her first solo album, 1998's The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. She has won five Grammys for her solo efforts.
