Little Monsters are clamoring for details on Lady Gaga's upcoming album, and frequent collaborator RedOne is happy to provide some info.

Gaga has been mostly silent about her next album, unofficially referred to as "LG5" by fans, expected to be released later this year. But music producer RedOne recently shared a few details on what the new album might sound like.

"All I know is that we did eight great songs so far, and I think we have incredible songs," he explained to People.

As for the general sound of the eight songs, RedOne suggested that it's not a huge departure from the music she's done in the past.

"It's a mixture of classic music and futuristic, too - I didn't want to go too far from what she is," he said. "We kept it [similar to] what Gaga is, what she's done all these years. It's special."

Gaga and RedOne collaborated on many of the pop superstar's greatest hits, including "Just Dance", "Poker Face", "Bad Romance" and "Alejandro". RedOne isn't sure if Gaga will go forward with the songs they produced together for the new album, but either way he has nothing but praise for her.

"It's up to her: It's her album, it's her creative process, it's her world, and I'll be happy for her whatever way she takes it," he said. "She's my sister. I want her to succeed, and I love her. She's just such an amazing artist."

RedOne also spoke about it was like when he first collaborated with Gaga, admitting he knew there was something special in her.

"I remember when I met her first. I told my wife, 'This girl is gonna be the next Madonna.' That's what I felt," he said. "And when we did 'Just Dance' and all the music we were doing, it was different; it was special. I wanted to break a new sound. I didn't want to follow every producer that was doing the same thing. And I did that sound, and it worked, and it changed music in the world: Dance music broke after that."

Gaga's new album does not yet have an official release date.
