Sarah Paulson has revealed a key detail about the character she is playing in season 6 of FX's American Horror Story.

Paulson confirmed at the Television Critics Association press tour earlier in the week that she was returning for season 6 of American Horror Story. The season's concept and cast has been top-secret from the beginning and continues as such, Paulson would not reveal any more details.

However, Paulson just spoke in a video chat with GoldDerby editor Marcus Dixon about her character, though the actress was hesitant at first.

Paulson said she was a bit scared to reveal anything because "the whole AHS fandom's gonna go bananas" but she hesitantly stated that she would be playing a "real live human," cryptically adding, "you'll see what I mean by that."

Paulson has yet to play a real-life character in her first five seasons of American Horror Story. She played psychic Billie Dean Howard in Murder House, reporter Lana Winters in Asylum, witch Cordelia Foxx Goode in Coven, conjoined twins Bette and Dot Tattler in Freak Show and Hypodermic Sally in Hotel.

Of course, Paulson has had experience playing a real-life person before - the actress played often-mocked prosecutor Marcia Clark in The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story earlier this year. The role gained her much acclaim, including a Television Critics Association award and an Emmy nomination. She is thought to be the favorite to win the Emmy, for Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie, which would be her first.

Since her first Emmy nomination in 2012 for the TV movie Game Change, Paulson has been on an unprecedented hot streak. The actress was nominated in 2013 for Asylum, 2014 for Coven, 2015 for Freak Show and now 2016 for both The People v. O.J. Simpson and Hotel.

American Horror Story season 6 premieres Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
