Blake Shelton opened up about his new album, If I'm Honest, and upcoming tour in a new interview.

As the country singer sat down with Extra TV’s Renee Bargh, he dished on what fans can expect to hear from his new music, which was inspired both by his heartbreaking divorce from Miranda Lambert and his new love with Gwen Stefani.

“You got to pull from your real-life experiences… It’s an outlet for me, helping me through a rough time and now it’s creating a good time for me,” Shelton explained on Tuesday.

On Shelton's album, several songs speak of his romance with Stefani, including the song they co-wrote, "Go Ahead and Break My Heart."

“I don't think I set out to have so many songs about Gwen on the record; I just wanted to sing about things I was feeling and thinking about at that moment,” he admitted.

As for Stefani's own songs about Shelton, he said, “It’s still hard for me to wrap my head around Gwen Stefani having written songs she says, I know, are about us and me. I caught a bunch of her shows out on tour and it’s weird to hear her say, ‘This next song I’m gonna do is about a cowboy.’ I’m like, ‘What? I can’t believe that.’ So crazy.”

Next month, Shelton kicks off his tour in Oklahoma and hopes to see Stefani in attendance.

“I hope so. I know that if she comes out to one of my shows, she’s done it once before, I think she’d be open to doing it again… I’m not too proud to beg," he joked.
