From Callen to Kensi, anyone one of the NCIS: Los Angeles agents would sacrifice everything to save their team. In season 8, someone will get that chance.

All last year, the mole crept along in the shadows, as insidious and unseen as black mold. Despite Hetty (Linda Hunt) and Granger's (Miguel Ferrer) valiant attempts to keep their issues in-house, their superiors will take over the investigation this fall. With everyone's jobs on the line, one of our heroes will bite the bullet and make a false confession.

"So dire will things get, one team member confesses to being the traitor," TV Line reported.

Yikes. Let's hope SecNav over looks this little shenanigan once the real traitor is sussed out. Hetty's team occasionally flaunts the rules, but it always works out in the end, right?

Interestingly enough, Granger will be hell-bent on keeping the Los Angeles squad safe. Time on the West Coast has slowly eroded the Assistant Director's staunch adherence to the rules, and he'll be ready to pull out all the stops to keep Callen (Chris O'Donnell), Sam (LL Cool J), Kensi (Daniela Ruah), and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) safe.

"You're going to love Granger in the first two episodes more than you've ever loved him before. He is the voice of the audience as all this stuff goes down," Olsen told Buddy TV. "He steps in and defends the team."

Will Granger be the one falsify a confession? Whatever the case, prepare for at least three intense episodes when NCIS: LA returns on this October.

"The first three episodes are like a freight train, and the mole is the catalyst for all of that," Olsen teased at San Diego Comic-Con.
